The Last Train to Nowhere
mysteryEveryone5 contributors · 4 paragraphs deep
The clerk leaned close to the glass. "Veliska isn't a place you find on maps," he said quietly. "It's where people go to remember. Your train leaves in five minutes. But once you board, you can't come back the same." He slid a brass key under the window.
He took the brass key and ran to the train. The key fit a small box under his seat. Inside was a letter in his own writing: "You chose to forget on purpose. To remember, get off at Veliska and open the box again." The train pulled away. For the first time, he felt sure he was going home.
