Letters We Mailed to the Wrong House
romanceEveryone6 contributors · 2 paragraphs deep
The envelope jammed in my mailbox. Wrong address: 14 instead of 41. Inside: a letter for Cordelia, in looping handwriting. 'Darling,' it starts, 'I know it's been too long. I owe you a conversation I've been too scared to have.'
I grab the letter and walk straight to house 14. I need to find Cordelia and give her this. I knock on the door.

A woman in her fifties opens the door. I mention Cordelia. She goes stiff. Her eyes fill. 'Who sent this?' she whispers.
