Vesna left the sled and climbed fast up a side gully to get above them. From the ridge she watched the followers reach her abandoned cargo and start prying the crates open. She could slip away now and keep the money, or stay and learn who they were.
Vesna slipped away over the ridge with the cash, leaving the cargo behind. But the storm closed in fast, and without the sled to brace against the wind she lost her footing on the ice. She caught a rock just in time, hanging over a black drop, and understood she'd never make it down alone.
