The Vault Under Glasswater Falls
adventure◐ TeenWe followed the arrow into the second passage. It narrowed until we crawled on our hands and knees. Then it opened into a wide chamber, and our lights swept across it. Old mining carts. A collapsed tunnel. And a second steel door, this one wide open, with a lantern still glowing inside.
The glowing lantern meant someone was close. We killed our lights and listened. Footsteps shuffled deeper inside. Then a voice, weak and scared: "Hello? Is someone there? I twisted my ankle and I can't climb out." It wasn't a thief. It was someone who needed help.
What happens next?
1 ways forwardWe followed the weak voice and found an old man wedged in a crevice, his ankle swollen. "I came looking for the gold years ago," he said. "Don't make my mistake." We splinted his leg, helped him climb, and got him out as the sun was setting. He thanked us with tears in his eyes.
