Wren knew he couldn't save it alone. He remembered an old healer who lived in a hut at the foot of the mountain. He bundled the dragon close and hurried down the path, praying he wasn't too late.
The old healer took one look and got to work with herbs and warm broth. The dragon recovered, but the healer warned that the queen would hunt them both. So Wren and the dragon slipped away at dawn, heading for lands beyond the maps.
