"There's another bus at eleven," Theo says, almost hopeful, almost looking for an exit. Mara reaches over and turns his wrist so she can read his watch. "That's three hours," she says. "Three hours where you can't disappear on me. Let's use them."
"Fine," Theo says. "Three hours. Ask me anything." Mara doesn't hesitate. "Do you love me?" Theo opens his mouth, closes it, then laughs at himself. "Yeah," he says. "God, yeah. I have the whole time." The eleven o'clock bus comes and goes outside. He doesn't even turn his head.
