"Actually," said quiet little Theo from the back, "I just wanted to hang out with everyone. I didn't realize this was a real robbery." Eight other people slowly admitted the same thing. Marv stared. "So nobody here actually wants to commit crimes?" A few hands went half up, unsure.
So we did what any group of mostly-functional adults would do. We turned on the lights, fired up the fondue pots, and threw ourselves a midnight cheese party in the empty restaurant. Marv kept the placemat as a souvenir. "Best heist ever," he said, dipping bread. Technically, we stole nothing.
