Everything to Save Her

The car keeps rolling toward the bridge in the rain. Mara smiles at him, confused but warm. 'You okay?' Up ahead, headlights swing wide across the wet lane.
At the last second Mara jerks the wheel herself, instinct kicking in. The car spins, clips the rail, and stops. They're both bruised but alive. She's shaking. 'I don't know why I turned. I just felt like I had to.' Elias realizes some part of her remembered the crash too. The past isn't as fixed as he thought.
