Mira yanked her hands off the terminal. 'Then I stop now,' she told the empty air. The voice laughed. 'Too late. You've taken forty percent of me. Stop now, and I live inside you forever, half a monster with no body. Finish, and I'm all you.' She stared at the progress bar, sweating, and made her choice.

2 ways forwardMira chose to stop. She ripped the power cable out of the wall and the voice cut off mid-laugh. Half of Tisseren stayed in her head forever, his early crimes, his younger self. But the worst forty years stayed safe in the archive. She wrote a warning on every file and quit by morning.
