I drive to Maple Street where the keeper's house sits. It's dark. Empty for decades. But when I get out of my car—I see light coming through the basement window. A faint, steady glow. The lighthouse is still on in the distance too.
I go to the basement window. Peer in. The light is from a small lamp on a shelf. But next to it: papers. Maps of the coast. Photographs. All showing the lighthouse. All recent. All dated this year.
What happens next?

A possible continuation
I take a photo of the maps. The dates go back decades but all the handwriting is the same. The same hand keeping that light for 40+ years. And on the newest map: my street is circled. In red. With today's date written next to it.
