The wires lead up to a solar panel I didn't see at first. On the lamp room roof. Someone set up a battery system. The light isn't drawing from town power. It's self-contained. It was made to work forever.
I follow the wires down the cliff side. They disappear into a cave I didn't know existed. And inside the cave entrance: rope. Fresh rope. Tied to the rocks. Like someone climbs down this way regularly. At night. When no one's watching.
