Me: 'If he built something down there, we have to know what.' Sefu: 'Yeah.' We walked to the basement door. I was terrified. Sefu took my hand. He hadn't done that since we were kids. Sefu: 'Let's do this together.'
The stairs went down and down. Way further than the boathouse should go. Sefu: 'This isn't real.' Me: 'Keep moving.' At the bottom: a chamber. Massive. Lit by glowing plants. Sefu: 'He built an underground garden.'

The garden was impossible. Fruit trees. Rice plants. A seed in the center, human-sized, glowing. Sefu: 'What is that?' A recorded voice, Dad's: 'If you're here, the water came. This is what I left you. Use it. Or stop it. Choose.'
