Milo reached up super slow and lifted the keys off the hook, holding them tight so they wouldn't jingle. The Keeper shivered right above his hand. He passed the keys to Posy, who unlocked the side door. They slipped out together and shut it softly behind them.

Milo grabbed the keys too fast and they jingled loud. The Keeper's cover flew open above him. "Forget the door!" Posy yelled. She yanked him under a table as books shot off the shelves overhead, flapping and snapping in the dark. They held still, hearts pounding, and waited for it to pass.
