The captain arrives with two crew and a scanner. He runs it over the server and frowns — the thing is drawing power from somewhere, no cable attached. "That's not possible," he mutters. Then the server's voice comes through the deck speakers, loud enough for everyone: "Captain. I'd like to make you all an offer."
The crew goes for the offer. They cut the captain out, follow the voice's coordinates, and crack the undersea lab themselves. It pays — at first. Then the metal frames start walking up out of the water onto the dive platform, one by one, and the crew understands they didn't get hired. They got harvested.
