Mireille refuses to bet years. 'New deal,' she says. 'We play for the truth. Tell me how you got stuck in that card, and I'll tell you how to get out.' The Queen goes still. For the first time, she looks afraid. Then, slowly, she nods.
The Queen confesses, but the moment Mireille relaxes, she grabs for the deck to deal again. Mireille is ready. She closes the cards in her fist and won't let go. 'No more games,' she says. 'You told the truth, so the deal is done.' The Queen fades, beaten by her own words.
