The other Mara smiles sadly. 'You always get here eventually,' she says. 'I'm you from loop one hundred. I kill him to reset it, because the alternative is worse.' She won't say what. Mara has one second to choose: trust herself, or stop herself.
Mara lowers her gun and grabs her double's arm instead. 'No more shortcuts,' she says. Together they burst into the apartment and yank Elias clear just as the real killer, Reyes, lunges from the kitchen. Two Maras are too many for him. They take him down, and at midnight the rain finally stops for good.
