Devon grabbed Mara's arm and hauled her back from the water before she could step in. The bubbles stopped instantly. "Whatever's down there wanted you to follow," he panted. They sat on the dock, hearts pounding, and made a rule out loud: nobody touches the water. Not tonight, not ever.
